Elk jaar na de lange winter dip en als de eerste zonnestralen zich door de wolken weten te priemen slaat het toe, de vakantie perikelen. Vrije tijd had ik al wel geregeld op mijn werk maar had er nog niet over na gedacht wat ik er mee wilde doen. Natuurlijk in overleg met matthijs begonnen we aan de voorpret. Dit jaar zouden we geen oceanen gaan oversteken. Wilden we het liefst iets onbekends met natuur, rust en ook sportieve activiteiten. En! het moet met de auto zijn. Mijn blauwe trots (suzuki alto) wordt dan eindelijk goed ingewijd. Ik kan het me al helemaal voorstellen, samen in de auto, tent achterin, muziek uit de speakers en lekker relaxed de weg voor ons gaan bereiden. Maar ja waar naartoe?...

Twee jaar geleden zijn we in een dag naar Salzburg, Oostenrijk gereden. Het was te doen maar wel erg lang (1100 km). Iets dichterbij dus. Matthijs kwam met het idee om Tsjechië onveilig te gaan maken. Familie van matthijs was er een jaar eerder geweest en was het daar goed bevallen. Maar ja Tsjechië wat is daar te doen? Zo begonnen we aan onze vakantie voorpret voor dit jaar. Ik heb wat websites bekeken, informatie opgevraagd en inmiddels al twee boekjes gekocht. Een met reistips en een voor de taal. Ik moet nog beginnen met lezen maar voor mij is de vakantiekoorts toegeslagen. Met een bakkie koffie kan ik wegdromen over de mooie reis die het gaat worden. Kastelen die we zullen tegenkomen, vriendelijke mensen of dat leuke dorpsbakkertje waar we misschien ons brood gaan halen.

Het is even een kleine vooruitblik op de mogelijke werkelijkheid, broodnodig doordat ik nu omval van het huiswerk en snak naar zon en vrij zijn. Ik denk een wel bekend gevoel voor velen,… nog maar heel even en het is weer zo ver, vakantie.

Each year after the long winter period, as the first rays of sunshine pass through the clouds it hits you, the holiday fever. I had already arranged my holliday at my work, but had not been thinking about what I wanted to do with it. Offcourse in consultation with matthijs we started to think about it. This year we won’t cross an ocean. We prefer something unknown, nature, relaxed but with some sports activities. And! it must reachable be by car, my Blue pride (Suzuki alto). I can imagine us together in the car, the tent in the back, music from the speakers and enjoy the relaxed moterway in front of us. But where to drive to? ...
Two years ago we drove in one days to Salzburg, Austria. It was doable but a very long ride (1100 km). So it must be a bit closer to home. Matthijs had the idea to go to the Czech republic. Family of Matthijs had visited Czech republic one years earlier and he liked it very much. We saw some beautiful pictures. But Czech republic, what is there to do?
So our vacation preparation started for this year. I've visited some websites, requested information and already have bought two books. One with travel tips and one book to learn how to speak Czech. I have yet to start reading but, the holiday fever has struck. With a cup of coffee I can dream about the wonderful journey that we will be making, castles that we will encounter, friendly people, or the nice village bakery where we might go to get our bread in the morning. It is just a small preview of the possible reality, that I desperately need at this moment because of all the homework at this moment. I yearn for sun and free time. I think this is well-known to many, just a couple of months and it is holiday time. Where do you dream of?
